The Ghostbuster movies are legendary, and Slimer is right up there too! This "He Slimed Me" T-shirt is a quote taken directly from the movie.
Did you know that Slimer's stunt double was a peanut and his name was originally going to be “Onion Head?” You can read more nerdy facts about Slimer it here. How weird, right? During filming the cast and crew referred to the green slimey ghost as “Onion Head” because he was supposed to have really bad breath. Slimer had no name, but thank goodness fans took it upon themselves after seeing the the scene where Peter Venkman (played by Bill Murray) says "he slimed me" after being attacked by "Onion Head."
Oh, ALSO, apparently Dan Aykroyd had a soft spot for Slimer. He tried to memorialize John Belushi who had just passed away. Aykroyd asked the crew to be sure the creature was "The Ghost Of John Belushi" as the two were dear friends.
Personally, we don’t see it. Do you?
Also, you know that wide shot of Slimer quickly floating around a chandelier? The effects guys were in a pinch (like just about everything in this movie) so they spray painted a peanut green in order to mimic the green ghoul and the shot was used in the final print. Pretty cool, ya?
