Product Description

Nagini is our spirit animal. Think we're weird? Take a moment to remember the importance and evolution of this character over time...

We're first introduced to Nagini in snake-form in Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire. We quickly learn that Voldemort and Nagini can communicate with one another and appear to have a telepathic connection at times. Also, at least in the books, Nagini is responsible for Lord Voldemort’s survival as he survived from her ‘milk’ before his body was finally restored.

Kinda gross, but also dark and dope.

Lord Voldemort could also possess Nagini, as he did on the night where Arthur Weasley was attacked in Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix. This detail is someone neglected in the Harry Potter movies, but more clean in the book. Then again, Nagini murdered "for" him on many occasions so we can easily see she is either fiercely loyal or under his spell in some way shape or form.

...and we're right, which is made obvious when Albus Dumbledore observes to Harry, ‘he certainly likes to keep her close and he seems to have an unusual amount of control over her, even for a Parselmouth.’ Then, he confirms it during Snapes final memories (via tears) to Harry during Deathly Hallows. It was here Dumbledore shares with Snape that, ‘there will come a time when Lord Voldemort will seem to fear for the life of his snake.’

Oh shit, Nagini is the final Horcrux!

The important is unreal, but learning in Fantastic Beasts that Nagini is actually a ‘Maledictus’ suddenly helps us see her for so much more. You see, a Maledictis is a carrier of a blood curse which will ultimately destine them to transform permanently into a beast. Since Fantastic Beasts stories take place BEFORE the Harry Potter series, we now know that Nagini was actually human to begin.

So, what happened? How in the world did Nagini turn into Lord Voldemort's sidekick? Was she willing? Was she forced? Is she under a spell? We'll see soon enough, but we have to imagin it's going to help us fall even more deeply in love.
